Will It Ever Stop?
A protest on knife crime
For most of us, knife crime is a distant issue, something often associated with the margins of society and largely ignored until it feels personally threatening. But through witnessing the impactful work of Bhishma and hearing firsthand accounts from affected communities, that perspective shifted. This short film explores the harsh reality of knife crime, particularly how it shapes the lives of young people—where violence becomes a form of social currency, status, and power.
Inspired by Rap Therapy, a powerful initiative led by Bhishma that empowers young people from underserved neighborhoods through music, the film captures more than just a performance. It’s a protest. A raw and moving expression of resilience, anger, hope, and a plea for change—delivered through rap.
The film features a group of young voices using rhythm and poetry not just to entertain, but to challenge their reality. Through a bold and technically demanding 7-minute tracking shot, these young performers deliver a unified message: they want a life free from crime, fear, and violence.
